I’m in my forties. I live in Iowa. It’s tough to be more boring than that, but I can add that I am married and have three kids. Still not boring enough? I’ve worked for the same company for eight years.
My nickname at work? Slut. No, bad joke; it’s actually Word Person. This derived from an incident where I used the word abscond in casual conversation — not exactly an obscure word or one demonstrative of great erudition. Nevertheless, it was unusual enough to stop conversation.
This story has a moral, and it is OH MY GOD HOW CAN PEOPLE NOT KNOW A WORD LIKE ABSCOND?

Thanks for the encouragement.
I’m a recently graduated journalism major and I’ve juggled the possibility of being a novelist or playwright but unfortunately, I feel that I’m way too talented at writing about my own personal life or the lives of my friends.
Plus, it’s really difficult wanting to do anything when you’re still trying to get over a tough breakup.
But, thanks again for the encouraging words. And kudos for using abscond in verbal communication.

I’m almost 40 and I almost live in Iowa (can see it from my house) does that make me almost boring?
I’ve only read a couple of your posts, but I’m intrigued. Can’t wait to read more.
